    Junie B Jones and the stupid smelly bus

    Riding the bus and meeting new people for the first time can be scary, especially at a young age. Told from Junie's perspective, these new things are not positive, so she retaliates and makes multiple poor choices none of which, in my opinion, is turned around into a positive learning experience for young readers. It is up to parents and other adults to help guide children through these scary times, a point left out here.

    It's NEVER a dull moment with Junie B. around!!!

    I'm a retired teacher and from personal experience most children(boys,too)LOVE to see what crazy situations she gets into and how she gets out of the messes she creates. In the first books she is in kindergarten,but I wouldn't read it to that age or even first graders-it might give some "creative" child new ideas to try. Our teacher-group used it as part of health to discuss behaviors and how to be successful in personal relationships(with other children and adults). We'd read and the children would tell us when things were going to become a problem then how to stop the "doom" or how to correct the problem that Junie had created. It's usually hard for children below 4th grade to see a problem developing much less know the best ways to solve it. By looking at it together and discussing the ...

    Books, Kids and the pursuit of Kid-proof books?

    Havin a child I understand how hard they can be on books. Especially paperbacks. I was very leary about buying these books for my daughter for her Birthday. I did not want my daughter opening up a gift from her parents in front of everybody that looked like a second hand store hand me down. However, after receiving the items? WOW!! I was amazed. These books looked better than the picture. I was VERY impressed. Even to the point of thinking to myself, these caouldn't have been owned by a child. These books are almost new. But I was wrong. These were what I ordered and in the condition (no, even better) that I was told. Thank you for this amazing gift! My Daughter will cherish them for always and I have you to thank. You have helped me make a better reader out of my daughter. ...

    These books are humorous and give my grandson and me opportunity to laugh.

    I bought this set of Junie B Jones books as a Christmas present for my 6 year old grandson. He absolutely loves them. They may be too ornery for a strict mom to enjoy reading to her timid, bashful child. But my grandson is adventurous and a bit ornery himself, so it is a perfect match. I also enjoy reading them to him. We laugh at all the situations Junie gets herself into. I love to laugh with my grandson.
