    Early Matt Dillon.

One of the best sci-fi 50's thrillers.....great production value makes the giant ants believable. James arness shows a comedic touch....who knew his Matt Dillon role was about to happen. Seeing fess Parker in a brief role brings back the fabulous fifties too.

  • Great classic movie

This is a movie I grew up with. I rarely missed it when it came on TV, so I was thrilled when I found it on DVD. It is a fairly typical 50's atomic age movie with giant ants roaming the area. It carries the plot further than most of those movies and shot in various locations, when most of the movies were shot on lots. Top actors in the two male leads with James Arness (of Matt Dillon, Gunsmoke fame) and James Whitmore. The special effects are not like you would find today but are really very good for the time frame. I never understood why nuclear radiation would make things grow and not shrink, but I guess tiny ants are not scary.

  • Oldie and Goodie

I truly have enjoyed this old movie, I remember watching this as a child. Really enjoyed watching it again. Both me and my husband love the old scary movies with the creatures, the monsters and ghosts. And this one is our favorite and thanks to you we finally found it. Thank you so much, D. • If you like the old creature features this one is a must have.

Them is the longest of the creature movies of that time period. It also has the best special effects. Definitely a bigger budget than the others.
