The Follies are alive.
Excellent movie. Over 3 hours of the most elaborate sets and costumes. If only it was in color. Extraordinary acting by everyone involved. A real tribute to Ziggy's work and inspiration. Early examples by the likes of Ray Bolger, Fannie Brice and more. Mister Powell was solid and dedicated. A+++

Truely Magnificent
I loved this movie, although not entirely historically correct, it was very realistic. It gives you a glimpse at life as it could have been, I mean, you don't have to accept it as history, but it is very accurate compared to others I've seen. My favorite part is When Fanny Brice meets Ziggy for the first time, and thinks he's a peddler. Then his wardrobe dresses her in this elegant black dress, with lots of ruffles. Only to come out and have him rip them off, put an old shawl on her and sing, "My Man" the song she would become famous for. I also enjoyed the parts pertaining to Anna Held, I think it was Excellent that they used someone with a real accent, and who wasn't faking one, although MGM was known for it's wonderful make believe. But the main point of the movie is Ziegfeld could sell confederate flags in Harlem, he could sell snow to the Eskimos, and he had more talent than any of us could ever hope to have.
