Some of Walsh's best work
Back in the day I bought a vinyl copy of this out of the "cut out" discount bin. I was vaguely familiar with James Gang but hadn't run across this album (which I later learned was their first). I was happy to find it is available as a CD. It's a fun album - like many first albums it has some funny banter from during the recording. But arguably some of Joe Walsh's very best work. What can I say! James Gangs first album it was good then and it's good now! Take a stroll down memory lane. Back when I was a young rocker and when rock was at its best! Many great rock band made their debut and James Gang was one of them. What I say? GRRRRRREAT!

"Yer Album" as the James Gang 1969 debut album is creative and has range for its time. If you are buying the James Gang for the first time consider the "Greatest Hits" or, better yet, "The James Gang Rides Again" album which is definitely AOR and far and away thier best effort with Joe Walsh as a member. "Yer Album", should be the next purchase though. It shows a front running band in 1969 experimenting with styles and instruments; and there are 4 or 5 outstanding tracks which hold up well today."Yer Album" as the James Gang 1969 debut album is creative and has range for its time. If you like the Eagles with Joe Walsh, it is worth looking into to see/hear what he was doing when he first started his group "The James Gang". This is the first album and includes the "prequel" to "Funk 49"..."Funk 48", that is!
