    More of an aesthetic upgrade than performance

    I got this to upgrade the font brake from the stock ones on the Surly Long Haul Trucker. I was anticipating a significant difference in stopping power from the inexpensive ones with which the bike came. I was disappointed to discover a rather similar feel and power compared to the ones I had before. Maybe I am expecting too much from a rim brake, but given the description and reviews I think it underperforms relative to my expectations. Setup was fairly easy once I decoded the instructions. Parts all seem of good quality.

    Update your brakes with these easy to set up brakes

    Updating a 1990s mountain bike to be an e bike for commuting. The old, hard to adjust Shimano cantilevers were just impossible to balance. This was my first brake setup, and it took minutes. Its so easy to balance! Seems like they have great stopping power.
