Product Information

After getting in over his head with a few unsavory lone sharks and being pressured from his beautiful, yet insistent wife Donna (Lori Loughlin), Bobby Deluca (Louis Mandylor) takes a car salesman position at the South Side Car dealership. However, what Bobby doesn't know is that his boss Reggie (Daniel Benzali) is using the vehicles he and the other salesmen are selling in an illegal smuggling operation. Bobby turns out to be a great at his job and will soon receive a ten-thousand dollar bonus, but the loan sharks become inpatient. They insist Bobby help them break into the office safe and kidnap Donna as collateral for his partnership. But, when one of the other employees gets hip to Reggie's illicit dealings, he decides to form a posse of his own to loot the safe. When the two group of thieves meet, gunfire and comedy explode.

Hope all car dealerships aren't like this one!!
Suckers is a comedy/drama takes you into the sleezy world of a used car dealership. Having worked at a car dealership myself, I was hoping for a fairly realistic representation of the business and I wasn't disappointed. Granted, this type of "hit the customer over the head and bury them in a huge monthly payment" dealership is thankfully rare, but they exist. If anything this movie may help you make a better deal on your next car because some the sales techniques shown in the film are actually used in real dealerships. My favorite character is the bald headed General Manager, Reggie, played by Daniel Benzali. He nailed it with the sleezy look and obnoxious one-liners. His scenes in the training room are classic! This MUST be a Car Dealer Training Video. Very FUNNY!
I was told by a friend of mine that I really needed to watch this movie. I had recently got into the automotive sales industry. Boy was I suprised! The movie was a lot like how a car dealership is ran. While a little stretched, the sales meetings and selling techniques are QUITE SIMILAR. I QUIT the car business an INFORMED CONSUMER! Car dealers are CROOKS! Buy your cars from a private individuals with their guarantees in writing. After watching this movie, you'll feel violated because this will bring back memories from your last visit at a car dealership. 4 Square, back and forth to the "boss", etc. This movie is a must for car dealers(Training Video). Old Movie Same Jokes
I was previously a manager at a cellphone company for a few years. I noticed the company was going under due to bad management on the other side of town and out of state areas. With the warning signs going up I went looking for another job. I was told by many people that I should try carsales. So, I did. While in a training one day I heard some guys make some refrences to a movie called "Suckers". So, I looked it up. My local store didnt have it but Ebay did... The movie was good (for its time) and had a lot of truth behind it. Things that still go on today. From jokes to strokes and back to pokes, those salesmen resemble some of the salesmen today. I enjoyed the movie with my wife who know thinks thats how it is in the car business. Just to clear things up...There still are some of those ... Suckers doesn't suck!!!
Oh the joy of buying a car. Some dealerships could use this film as a training tool. This movie is set in the 1990's during the "Rip the customer's head off" period of car sales. The movie follows an average guy as he begins his sales career with the "top grossing" dealership in the area. He rapidly moves from "Green Pea" to top salesman. The drug trafficing back story doesn't ad much to this highly entertaining and enlightening movie. As a car saleperson I would not recommend you watch the HOW TO BUY A CAR section in the DVD extras. Overall a fun film with believable characters.Oh the joy of buying a car. Some dealerships could use this film as a training tool.
