    Happen to be familiar with this aircraft. WW II featured a lot of players including two of my mother's brothers. Before they were lost inland of Normandy and over the Pacific they flew carrier based Corsairs. Loving it. They went to heaven in a flash of fire. P.S. Beaucoup Nazi submarine kills in the North Atlantic and Baltic.

    F4u-4 Corsair

    Nice model really fine details. Fairly easy build until you get to landing gear. They don't mention it in the instructions but there is a ton of filing and dry fitting before gluing, keep that in mind. If you don't the gear will be neither up or down and when you move it the piece will snap off. The other thing is the picture you keep showing is not the correct one for this kit. There are no decals for the markings shown nor are there instructions for installing radar pod shown in picture. Aside from that this is a fun kit to build. One other thing the decals need to be scaled down the lettering barely fits. It's like they are for the next scale bigger than 1/48, that takes off another star. Fading fast.

    Install the horizontal stabilizer before closing the fuselage halves

    Old mold, but the surface details are OK. Monogram had better color plastic. Revell was always a bit gummy & the colors were not as good. I would prefer an old late 70's Monogram kit, but hey. One trick though, install the horizontal stabilizer before closing the fuselage halves. It won't go in otherwise without a stupid amount of sanding. Obviously a mistake in the assembly instructions of yore.

    I love these Revell model planes! The Corsair is my favorite plane.

    I love these Revell model planes. I had this one when I was 12 and I hung it from my ceiling. Best WWII plane in my book!
