  • A great book and tribute to the folks who built it!

I recently started looking for some detailed information about the White Pass and Yukon Railroad after a recent cruise to Skagway and a ride on the railroad. My dad worked in the Alaska travel industry and had many stories about the WPYRR including riding a “speeder” from Whitehorse to Skagway in the 1960’s. I’ve always been a railroad fan and this book is absolutely incredible in describing the building of the line and the pictures in this book are, as they say, worth a thousand words! The book is a true testament to what it took, back in those days, to accomplish such a feat. Even with today’s technology, it’s simply amazing! It’s one of the best books I’ve ever purchased. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in history, Alaska, railroading, mining or ...

  • White Pass and Yukon Routes "A Pictoral History"

Decided to buy it because we've cruised to Alaska and rode the White Pass and Yukon Railroad. More wonderful than words. Detail, Detail, Detail. The old wonderful photos are incredible! The Construction, the SNOW, the Railroad Facts, all the images and History on each will mesmerize you. It did us. One of our favorite books ever. Sad to see it end at Page 120. Highly recommend it. You will love it too.
