This is not a serious horror movie. It has an interesting plot line. I enjoyed the costuming of the doctor's assistant. I always watch any movie with Joseph Cotten in it.

Perhaps the true horror movie buff will be entranced, but I found it so camp that it out-camped itself to became silly and boring at last. Mediocre at best, this movie really is designed for someone consumed by horror movies or at least a peripheral groupie of such things. When I think of the old style of horror movies, Vincent Price is one of the first names that come to mind. Most of this plot looks like the directors of the Saw movies stole their ideas from this movie. Dr. Phibes is a crazed genius out for blood and Scotland Yard can only watch helpless as he polishes off victim after victum in the most ingenious of ways. I enjoyed the acting,applauded the escapes and laughed as the officers of the law remained one step behind the good doctor.When I think of the old style of horror movies, Vincent Price is one of the first names that come to mind.
