Great buy if you want features and AC3200
I've been shopping around for an AC router for a while and was actually waiting for the absolute last moment to get one, with technology moving so quickly (AC5400 devices announced!). Wireless N router suddenly died and then now became the last moment. Since this is one of a handful of AC3200 routers available, your pickings is a bit limited. Here are some thoughts on how I came to my decision: PROS: - excellent range. The two 5GHz bands work wonders and the N band goes real far, real real real far. - good overall speeds for both bands and gigabit Ethernet ports. If you check out reviews and comparisons, you'll find that each model is faster for one protocol while another one beats it in another. There isn't an absolute best router when it comes to speed and range. - lots of ... Even has DD-WRT support for people wanting open source firmware that allows even more tinkering. Played with the Linksys EA9200 AC3200 and kept looking for the "Advanced" menu... found that what you see is what you get, which is basic options only, which isn't really right, which is not really acceptable for a highend/enthusiast router. The Linksys also requires an app when you connect to it using a smartphone. The TRENDnet on the other hand works fully with HTML, a major plus when you don't know which mobile OS you might have access to. - good clear menus with helpful manual - your miles may vary, but currently very stable for me. Haven't had to reboot because of stability issues. - warranty is at 3 years, which, if I'm doing my math right, is more than the 1 year from Linksys et al. - price is good now that AC5400 routers are coming out CONS: - the most recent firmware update from TRENDnet is from Oct, 2015. For their highest end router, I'm hoping they would keep supporting this - I'm geeky and know of the TRENDnet brand before going into the purchase, but being not the household brand for routers (Dlink, Linksys, Asus, etc.), I feel it should cost less than, for example, a Linksys. I prefer the TRENDnet given the pros above, but if it was a financial decision solely, I would have picked the Linksys counterpart, as I'm sure lots of people who just pick by the brand would too. Cheaper and a "Linksys", why not? - for higher end routers, in general, I find there should be lots more Ethernet ports but most only come with 4 these days. Not a big issue, especially since with fast AC at 1300 Mbps theoretical speeds, some non-essential equipment can simply cut the wires and go wireless. - a little too much plastic and has uninspired design (but good looking routers are far and between, and of course, subjective too) - works a little funky with my cheap ISP provided modem. They have to be booted up with the connection between them disconnected or the modem crashes. Strange and workable, but I'm not too worried at the moment since there's still a long warranty ahead. Overall an excellent buy if you want a little more in the control panel but all AC3200 and above routers are quite good nowadays. Check some reviews and decide on your own :-)

Meets all expectations
I replaced my cable modem/router with this router when the wireless part of said router went wonky. The TrendNet was very easy to set up and solved all the problems I was having. It also covers all my house with both 2.4 G and 5 g signals. My spots of weak connection are no more. Great value.
