It's idjit proof right out of the box. Has instructions but they aren't needed. No tools required ever. Simple to assemble and easy to adjust blade depth. Comes with battery but I use a battery adapter I bought on EBay. I can use Bauer batteries from Harbor Freight on this edger. Did my whole 185' driveway, both sides with 8 Ah Bauer battery. Still showing full charge.
