Called a child prodigy when she was 5 and appearing on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson when she was 10, Elle Silver was a gifted and talented singer, songwriter and keyboard player. Rock and Roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis saw her play and told her she was "an amazing talent". Legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn saw her perform and invited her to compose a song with him. She had her own lounge show at The Riviera Hotel and also at The Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas. She played in various bands, hotels and nightclubs all over the world and she had a large following that absolutely adored her, not only for her musical ability but also for her loving and gentle spirit. No one could resist her smile. Whether she was playing to a full house or just a few she made everyone in the audience feel as if she was singing only to them. Unfortunately, Elle's life was taken way to soon on May 7, 2006 when she died from a rare disease called Waldenstrom's. She is dearly missed by so many and although she is gone, her spirit and music will continue to live in our hearts.
