    The Apple X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 software upgrade comes in DVD format to update your Mac computer from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Mac OS Snow Leopard is designed to work with Intel Macs. Snow Leopard is not a complete system overhaul, but rather a collection of smaller refinements to make your Mac run more smoothly and improve compatibility between apps. This upgrade is full of small updates to the existing features of Leopard, making them much more user-friendly. The Snow Leopard operating system update also enhances the performance of the Leopard Mac OS system and improves efficiency across a number of programs. The Snow Leopard software update enhances the usability of common programs, like Finder and QuickTime. Finder has been redesigned from the version in Leopard to make file-viewing and browsing much simpler, and a complete overhaul of QuickTime (now updated to QuickTime X) gives the program a cleaner interface and recording tools. The Finder itself has very few changes in terms of interface, but there are some big changes to the way files behave, which makes them easier to use. You can preview documents with multiple pages and play QuickTime movies from within the Finder window thanks to the addition of the enhanced icon view. There is also a new zoom slider that allows you to zoom in on icons while you search for files. The Mac App Store will install with your update as well. Another key update is Microsoft Exchange, which integrates the Mail, Address Book, and iCal apps. Multi-touch trackpad support has also been added for laptops, such as the MacBook Pro. Apple’s Time Machine backup tool is included as well, along with the Boot Camp utility that allows you to install and dual boot Windows on your Mac. Preview now allows you to preview files, even those created with software you may not have on your hard drive, meaning you can view information without owning the program in which it was created. Installation of Mac OS X Snow Leopard on your computer is a breeze with the DVD disk. The installer has been redesigned to take about half the time of software updates and can only be used on an Apple Mac computer system that is Intel-based. Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard installs without interfering or harming any of your saved files, music, photos, or documents. Snow Leopard will also locate any missing drivers for you as an added convenience. The major applications in Snow Leopard have been rewritten in 64-bit to take advantage of the hardware found in newer Macs. Users will also love the file compression of Snow Leopard for Mac OSX, which gives the program a much smaller overall memory footprint than other versions. Snow Leopard is a key upgrade for your computer, adding speed, performance, and agility to your existing programs. The Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard upgrade keeps your computer up to date, so it is ready and able to sustain succeeding versions of software (Lion, Mountain Lion, El Capitan, etc.), which rely on Snow Leopard as a base for updates.

      Good for MacBooks

      It worked flawlessly on my 2006 and 2007 MacBook Pros. No problems course it was brand new, but still it was an easy install and I would recommend it for people who own old MacBooks.

      Huge Help!

      I had an old 2007 17" macbook pro that I took apart, re-pasted the logic board, and wanted to restore for old times sake. I was just missing the original dvd and this was the last piece of the puzzle to get it up and running again. After the install, it runs as smooth as it did on day one and I use the machine to learn some C/C++ and python programming. It's a beautiful development platform and Snow Leopard still feels pretty modern in 2022. DVD was a huge help in reviving a 15 year old computer that didn't need to be in a landfill. Thank you!!

      Easy Upgrade to an Older MacBook!

      Great upgrade for old Mac Mini

      I acquired an old A1176 Mac Mini which had OSX 10.4 installed. It had the 1.8 Core Duo chip so it could not run the newer 64 bit OS. Snow Leopard was the only viable modern OS upgrade. This listing provided a new DVD version at a reasonable price. I'm new to the Apple environment and was surprised at the relative ease and speed of the installation even with the 32 bit chip. I highly recommend the upgrade for those unwilling to do the difficult CPU swap to the Core 2 Duo.

      Needed To Access App Store

      This item is essential for accessing App Store and upgrading to current generation of Mac Os which for some reason is not available online for download.
