Solid well built. I'll be putting this to a lot of use on a monopod. Recommended by "the angry photographer" of youtube. Everything fits well and adjusts well while working with Nikon cameras.

Best Ball Head for the money?
I find this head to be well-designed and well-built. It performs *better* than other ball heads I've tried that cost 3 to 4 times as much. The degree markings on the base make it easy for taking panoramas at night when you can't see anything through the camera. My payload it a little over 4 lbs (2kg), and when in portrait orientation, I have to tighten it down pretty hard to overcome the stress of that side-load. So, if your kit weighs much more than mine, I might recommend a beefier head. Or maybe just an L-bracket.I find this head to be well-designed and well-built. Compact and functional
This ball head takes up very little space on a travel tripod (i.e. those where the legs can swing 180 degrees), yet it is stable with APS-C cameras and almost any lens. The only time I have had trouble is when pointing almost vertical with a very long vintage lens (shooting at the moon, for example). The panning control is accurate and smooth, great for panoramas.
