Works with non emissions 1998 DT466E
I'm building a camper/rv out of a 1998 Thomas school bus with a DT466E and if you know anything about the DT then you know how important the fuel psi is. This gauge is sold as a "powerstroke" part but the DT has the same fuel and high psi oil system and they both operate at the same pressures. (I'm an International mechanic) The only thing I had to do to make this work on my engine was remove the Schrader valve and install a 90 degree fitting so I could screw the sensor in without clearance issues. Other than that I followed the manufacturer's instructions and it works great! My fuel pressure is exactly as it should be reading at 55-60 psi. I have it installed along with a manual gauge. Both gauges read 5 psi off each other. So dont go off of someone elses recommendation. Adjust per your gauge and setup. Easy to wire up. Red power when "on". Black ground. Orange to headlight switch, this dims the gauges at night so theyre not so bright. Green to signal at the sender unit. The kit does not come with a way to install the sender unit. You need to buy a aftermarket fuel rail with a 1/4 npt port or a 1/4 npt fuel filter banjo bolt kit that fits your fuel filter. The gauges are tinted and blacked out when turned off. You can see the face in direct sunlight. The lens is magnified. When powered the gauges light up brightly even in the sun. It takes a second to power up. The needle does a full swipe and then settles to the reading. ... I have it installed along with a manual gauge. Both gauges read 5 psi off each other. Bad product,
Advise to stay away. Have had bad luck with glowshift years ago. Gave another shot and brand new fuel pressure does not work. Verified with mechanical gauge. Will stick with aem and aero force from now on.
