These replaced a really good set of Wilkinsons that had good tone and were average on output. I needed the guitar to be much hotter than it was. These pickups delivered, WAY more than I was expecting- I almost don't need a distortion pedal with this guitar now! I'll be back for more, especially for my mando-caster project.

I'm a fan of GM pickups and have them in a few of my guitars. I'm somewhat of an explorer when it comes to these types of brands. I've tried Fleor, Dragonfire, Oripure, LYWS (Amazon), Wilkinson and other low-cost pickups from Amazon. I can easily say I would not hesitate to buy more. In my opinion, these are better than Wilkinson and Oripures (although I've only tried one). I do like Fleors as well and have enjoyed the LYWS pickups and took the suggestions to wax pot them.

I sold my $2500 guitar, and purchased an $80 imitation telecaster. I removed the stock bridge pickup. Had to do a little research on properly wiring it, the schematic that comes with it was not helpful but once I got it right, BAM! My cheap telecaster sounded like a million bucks. Harmonic squeals, rich beautiful tones, this new pickup kicks ass. Very pleased and it's worth every penny. If your on the fence about buying this pickup, jump off and purchase this bad boy. You won't be sorry.

Nice sound for the money, basic instructions.

I purchased this rail humbucker for a Squire offset Telecaster. The bridge in the Telecaster was fuzzy and indistinct, and didn’t sound like other Telecasters I heard online. Plus, I like hard rock and heavy metal, and I could keep the existing neck pickup for a nice clean tone. The instructions are no more than you see on the pictures. For my guitar, that meant tying off the red/white wire with electrical tape, soldering the green wire to the bridge output on my switch, and soldering the black and silver wires to the back of the volume pot (ground). Upon completion, the distorted sound is much more crunchy, and each string resounds more clearly than before. It is also clearer with the distortion turned down on my amp. I had no problem with the pickup fitting my squire’s bridge ...

  • Aggressive little double-single coil

Needed more punch out of one of my Tele's, and have always had great experiences with rails single coils... this one is no exception. As a humbucker, it functions exactly as it should, cancelling out the 60 cycle hum. I don't ever compare these to full sized humbuckers, because they are simply not. But that is the attraction for me. They retain some single coil aspects in regards to highs but with a more aggressive output... they're like a high powered strat pickup. And they can really break up nicely when pushed. I play classic rock and tend to use too much distortion in my mix as a fault, but these things get me there.

  • Great pickup. Don’t let the price worry you.

Great sounding pickup. I used to be a pickup snob until I gave Wilkinson and guitar madness pickups a try. At 1/5 the price of the high end pickups, just as good tone, and good build quality, hard to spend too dollar for a pickup anymore.

  • This Hot Rail Rocks!

Great Value! Awesome sounding Hot Rail! It's quiet, no noise. Built like a tank, the wiring on this is better than some costing way more. If you need to push it over the edge, this is the real deal. Comes with wiring diagram.

  • Can’t beat it

Put this pickup in the bridge of my tele. This thing goes from beautiful clean to full metal. Very versatile.
