  • Decent representation of a 1965 Chevy pickup.

I guess nothing is ever perfect, that would just be too much effort to do things right the first time. That said, the body style of this truck is quite convincing when put next to period correct photos. My only real gripe this time is with the see through (translucent) roof. Yes, it's just cast in matching orange plastic and is so thin that any background light shines right through the thing; not something I consider an asset. My examples (2 bought elsewhere) had one in top notch condition and a another with the rear rims totally deformed; this took a bit of fixing and still is not right, but at least not as obvious now. I'm guessing that some Southern Pacific door decals will be gracing several of these on my railroad. So I have ordered yet another of these to further that goal. Overall, ...

  • Nice for background, not a foreground piece.

The mix of plastic and metal keeps this from being a fine scale model. The greenhouse (upper cab) is molded in clear plastic along with the window glazing, and the paint is translucent, almost transparent. Details are a bit rounded and heavy. The model is otherwise decorated well, but isn't really fine enough to put alongside the most finely-detailed HO vehicles or RR models. Good for background or distance, nice to collect, but not top-notch for foreground, close inspection, or photos.

  • Just the era vehicle i needed for my layout, 1970's

Just what the Dr. ordered. I'm doing a 1970's layout, this fits in perfect with that era. Details are right on and is well made and detailed nicely.
