Couldn't put this book down
Very great book filled with lots of emotion and suspense. Author has a very elegant way of depicting scenes and this book leaves with a lot of insight on the character's psyche. Top notch writing, and a great book overall!

A'Kla dies in his attempt as Corran Horn and the Yuuzhan Vong commander, Shedao Shai, duel over the fate of the planet Ithor (home to the "Hammerheads" from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) -- a conflict that ends with Ithor's destruction The ending of this book is wild. After the previous two books we were accustomed to seeing the Jedi fall back in retreat from the Vong. In this book, they stand to defend the line on the planet Ithor. At the very end we see an epic duel between Corran Horn and the Vong commander. Horn wins, but does not save the day due to treatury! Wild book. I'm hooked on this series now.
