When Only the Best Will Do
Small and lightweight with a handy attached ring, these are perfect for carrying on outdoor trips, or even for EDC. They have a quality box hinge and are beautifully finished in super smooth, highly polished surgical grade stainless steel, which looks at home when next to any high end stainless key chain tools. If fishing had a niche luxe market then these would qualify as a must have, and they are certainly nice enough to engrave or give as a gift. The Texas Tackle patented design works very well on big or small split rings with large aspect ratios, and less well with split rings with small aspect ratios - especially where the gauge of the wire is very thick. These are a different design to the Ring Lord recommended Xuron split ring pliers, and I've not tried to use them on any scale ... Even though they are 'mini', they still have a spring in the handle (I wouldn't have purchased them without one). They are made in Pakistan and remind me of some quality orthodontic pliers that I've seen which also come from Pakistan.

You dont get what is pictured
what is pictured is not what you get. you get a new version with no split ring and it has rubber on the handles. and the worst part of it is the tooth is bigger and shaped differently,so it will not work the same.

Bad news, don't buy it.
Do not buy this product. It is not made in USA. It is made in Pakistan that is worst than made in China. The reason I bought this tool is " Proudly Made in USA". When I opened the package closely at the printed on the steel "Texas Tackle Patented Made in Pakistan". It is 100% liar and it is too late for me to return it, because I threw always the package in the big trash container.

Not same as older versions
The new versions of these pliers are too thick at the tips, the wedge is insufficient to spread rings much....taking a hook off is ok, but putting a hook on is almost perilous.. Be careful.
