small size, small price
This unit is small, easy to use, and self-sufficient (it doesn't need an external power source). It is small enough to fit in a pocket or a laptop bag, but with the max size of disk being 2Tb it is a huge storage asset. I am using it with some 80Gb disks I had laying around. This is perfect to backup music, photos, documents, etc. with. I liked this so much I bought a second one.

GREAT PRICE, BUT...
It's not supposed to matter for 2.5" drives but this enclosure mounts the drive upside-down. If this matters to you (wanting to have the label side up) then this isn't the enclosure for you. I've been working around it by using the enclosure upside-down so my drive in this enclosure is label side up. The disadvantage with this is the activity light is on the bottom. The price is great but I'm a little disappointed that I bought two before seeing what I was getting. They seem to work fine. I haven't tested throughput but I mostly just get a few files at a time and don't have to worry about the speed.It's not supposed to matter for 2.5" drives but this enclosure mounts the drive upside-down. I picked this one due to the easy open enclosure. Which is good, since the instructions on how to open the case are in the enclosure. Print on the instruction is too small anyway. Note: when first connected, the “hot swap” button needs to be pressed for the system to recognize the drive. Item is as described, arrived in good condition. Clear USB case for hard drives. I have several drives sitting around that these cases fit nicely into. I have been able to create a backup that goes on a shelf outside of this case.
