Anti-static Desk Mat looks nice but isn't suitable for on carpet use
I needed a new anti-static mat for under my lab bench to replace an old one that was in poor physical shape. The old one was a hard black plastic that survived my wheeled desk chair rolling around on it for many years, even though it was on top of a thick carpet. The new one looks much nicer, but is quite soft and totally not suited for placement on a carpet. I had to get a plastic carpet protector and place the mat on top of it. This is an adequate solution, not a great one. The tempered glass protectors would be a better but more expensive choice. So, I think this mat would be fine on a hard floor, but I wouldn't recommend it for my carpeted application. It does come with a nice selection of ground wires with snaps, a simple wrist strap and plug in ground box that accepts 2 wrist ...
