A Christmas movie we’ve always enjoyed….
A very enjoyable movie, not a classic but funny, heartwarming and entertaining. Leslie Nielsen’s role, although his appearances are brief, is well done. The casting of Lauren Bacall is also a welcome plus. The characters are engaging, the story line is good, the acting is well done, it is funny, kinda sad and heartwarming at the same time. A nice story about a broken home being put back together in time for Christmas. No princes or castles, no Christmas tree farms, or vineyards, or bookstores just a nice story for your Christmas watching enjoyment. A beautiful and interesting movie
Those of us with divorced or divorcing parents have to learn a little earlier than other people that Santa, and seemingly everything else isn't go to be concerned about what we really want. I was first attracted to the movie by it's theme song, which was beautiful and touching, especially when accompanied by photographs of those tender family moments. Ihad not know when I purchased the movie that a leading star would be Jamey Sheridan. I also loved his role in "the Lost Child". He is fast becoming one of my favorite actors.Those of us with divorced or divorcing parents have to learn a little earlier than other people that Santa, and seemingly everything else isn't go to be concerned about what we really want. All I Want for Christmas
All I Want for Christmas is an entertaining and enjoyable way to spend about 90 minutes during the Christmas season. The movie centers on a sister (Hallie) who asks Santa (wonderfully played by Leslie Nielsen) to reunite her parents (recently divorced) and her brother (Ethan) who devises a plot he hopes will work the magic. Anyone familiar with Christmas movies already knows how the story will end, but the road to the ending is worth seeing! Two things I found extra interesting in this movie are, first, Leslie Nielsen, although only shown in the movie for less than five minutes, is one of the best Santa's I've seen. His costume and the way he handles himself makes watching this movie worth it all by itself. Secondly, Ethan (the brother) has a whole lot of hair with a wave in the front. ... All I Want for Christmas is an entertaining and enjoyable way to spend about 90 minutes during the Christmas season.
