Excellent storyline except for "fake" Arizona county where Coogan was a deputy sheriff. Always interesting and sad to see the twin towers in older movies.

Classic Eastwood -- what's not to like?
It's simply not possible to diss an Eastwood movie. His body of work is among the most consistent and compelling in cinema history. In his eventual death, he will be celebrated as a legendary figure along with such greats as Paul Newman. And no one, but no one, will ever forget Dirty Harry. Even a former President (Reagan) was quoted using a Dirty Harry line ("Make my day.") But Eastwood's character in Coogan's Bluff stands tall as well, and eventually inspired another memorable character for TV, Dennis Weaver's McCLOUD. The storyline has all of the action and conflict you'd expect from an Eastwood film, but keep in mind that this is a 60's period piece complete with drug cliches and some of the pacing mirrors the directorial patterns of the ... It's simply not possible to diss an Eastwood movie. His body of work is among the most consistent and compelling in cinema history. Coogan's Bluff filming location
Clint Eastwood has been one of my favorite actors, I had not seen this movie prior to purchase additionally, while vacationing in California, traveling through Randsburg I met a fellow who had a ranch near there in the Mojave Desert, I was invited to the ranch and stayed one night there, at that time I was informed that a scene in this movie was filmed at the ranch site. I purchased the movie and compared my photo's to the scenes in the movie, and did recognize several scence areas. Coogan's Bluff is a very excellent title
This is a good action movie where Coogan gets shoved aside to protect one criminal. In the end Coogan does get the prisoner. I like his tyle of getting the prisoner.

A womanizing, Deputy is sent to New York City, Coogan (Clint Eastwood), to pick up a prisoner, who gets out (don stroud). [Coogan's Bluff was the prelude to the hit tv show McCloud]. A back water DEputy, using the country way to track down a criminal through another forest, but this one with buildings, instead of cactus and tress and mountains. There are hills and buildings here in NYC. Alot of fantastic locations, central park. And the small towns in the desert. Clint Eastwood, is perfect as Coogan. And the criminal is perfectly portrayed by Don Stroud.
