  • The fitle is a quote from a famous American author, Herman Melville who wrote Moby Dick.

One of the better of the Spenser series, definitely very enjoyable to read.

  • Deus Ex Machina

This is NOT a critique of the seller, but of the story itself. The main problem: It is totally unbelieveable. Not one of Parker's better efforts, and not very well thought out. Spenser and Hawk get into serious legal trouble that they would NEVER get out of so what happens? The government steps in and gives them what amounts to a black ops mission. Wait, it gets sillier. Somehow, a private investigator and his mob enforcer sidekick are able to overtake a small army of mercinaries. What? Now superman capes? No leaping tall buildings in a single bound? Then, to finally get the bad guy at the end, another gift is laid in Spenser's lap. Worth reading if you want a good laugh. Otherwise, it is rather silly.
