About this product

Product Information

The international bestselling series with over 5 million copies sold in the U.S. alone ! Bracing for a final clash with the evil warlord Morgarath, the Rangers rally the kingdom's allies, and Will is chosen, along with his friend Horace, as special envoys to nearby Celtica. But the simple mission soon takes an unsettling turn - the Celticans have disappeared, their town abandoned. The scheming hand of Morgarath, it seems, has been far from idle. He has found a way to bring his legions over the once impassible eastern mountains and is planning to ambush the king's army in a rout. Now with help many miles away, Will and Horace are the only ones standing in the way of the dark lord's plans. They have shown great skill and courage in their training, but how will they fare in the face of true evil? Perfect for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, T.H. White's The Sword in the Stone, Christopher Paolini's Eragon series, and George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire series. Watch a QuickTime trailer for this book.

  • Ranger's Apprentice Book 2 The Burning Bridge

If you have read Ranger's Apprentice Book 1 The Ruins of Gorlan, Book 2 is a must read! But be warned, The Burning Bridge will leave you begging for more of John Flanagan's wonderful tales of Will, the Ranger's apprentice and his friend Horace the apprentice knight. The Burning Bridge picks up where Book One left off, with the fantasy kingdom of Araluen waiting to go to battle with Morgarath and his dreaded Wargals. Without giving any spoilers to the story, the characters met in the 1st Book, become even more real and the story is full of suspense to the very end! The Ranger's Apprentice books are listed as teen or young adult books but this 40 something mom and fan of fantasy writing, found these to be a refreshing change from some of the more adult fantasies. If you are looking for ...

  • The Burning Bridge by John Flanagan

I was introduced to John Flanagan by a friend. I love his books because they are a fast-paced read, believable, and the language is clean. I'm sick of writers that feel that they have to swear like a sailor to sell a book. I would highly recommend John Flanagan books to anyone, even though he writes for young adults. Who knows, maybe it will make THEM feel young again. It did for me.

  • An Epic Tale

The story is very interesting to say the least. The story takes place in a realistic setting where there is no magic. All of the ranger's tricks involve real life camouflage. The only thing to hate about the story is that the book kind of leaves you at a weird cliff hanger. The author kind of leaves the story unfinished in a middle of an ark.
