Were sorry you had installation difficulties. We do offer tech support and yes it fits. Amateur installer sometimes reach out to us with fitment concerns. Yes, every ford lincoln mercury installation for almost a decade required dremel removal plastic from the top (1/8") and bottom (1/8") of the radio opening (don't touch the sides). It's not visible so a steady hand is not required to make it look pretty. I use a dremel with a rotozip blade in it, takes about 5 minutes including vacuum.
