A film that marks Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's first leading role in a family-friendly comedy, THE GAME PLAN finds the former pro wrestler starring as Joe Kingman, a popular NFL quarterback happily entrenched in a carefree single lifestyle. Kingman's world is turned upside-down, however, when a young girl named Peyton Kelly (Madison Pettis) appears from out of the blue, claiming to be his daughter from a brief former marriage. Reluctantly, Kingman must learn how to shake his self-absorption and become a father, leading to hijinks that involve the inevitable clash of macho-man and little-girl cultures.Directed by Andy Fickman (SHE'S THE MAN), this likable Disney movie is hoisted up by the muscular Johnson, who finally gets a chance to showcase his winking charm and impressive comic timing at length. Although Johnson is no stranger to portraying football players (see 2006's GRIDIRON GANG), THE GAME PLAN is far lighter fare than his previous films, opening up at another door in his intriguing WWE-to-Hollywood career. The comedy also features an excellent supporting cast, most notably, the precocious Pettis, along with Morris Chestnut, who plays Kingman's thoughtful teammate Travis Sanders, and Kyra Sedgwick, on leave from her hard-hitting role in THE CLOSER TV show as Kingman's workaholic agent. Nodding to Disney live-action comedies of yore while conveying a 21st-century sheen, THE GAME PLAN hits all of its intended goals, making it one of 2007's most enjoyable family movies.

    Disneys GAME PLAN the ROCK -rocks as King DADDY

    the whole family loved this LIGHT HEARTED family film -the characters were all just perfect . We really got into the characters of the football team . Our boys ages 7 & 8 got the biggest kick out of the movie - LITTLE GIRLS will love Peyton a willful and precouscious child with a big heart and beautiful hair. The Rock was hysterically funny ....we loved him in his role a FREAKISHLY LARGE MAN .....who traded a football jersey for ballerina tights to please his little girl . I would own this movie -the laughs never grow stale .... WORTH THE WATCH AND OWNERSHIP . clean fun -DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT INAPPROPRIATE SITUATIONS ....SUITABLE FOR YOUNGER VIEWERS and entertaining enough for adults too . A+

    The Rock makes a good quarterback and father!

    This is a cute but predictable story of the Rock who finds out he has a daughter when she shows up saying her mother is gone away. The Rock and his new found daughter bond and develop a great relationship as the Rock leads his team to the Championship Game. A warm and cute story sure to entertain all ages. A story to make any dad proud!

    The Game Plan

    It's not Shakespeare, but who buys Shakespeare DVD's anyway? I bought this movie for my 8 year old daughter, she loves it. She laughed so hard at some points that she made me laugh. From her 8 year old perspective, "it was awesome", "it was hilarious", "great story". From my adult perspective, I was pleasantly suprised. "The Rock" was truly funny, he delivered lines with wit and charm. His facial expressions were right on the money. He is not to hard on the eyes either. Kyra Sedgwick as the over-the-top agent is comical, I just wish her character had more depth, (do agents have depth?) Roselyn Sanchez is great as the ballet teacher. Thank you Disney for another fun family movie. It is really nice to sit and watch a movie with my daughter and not have to worry about inappropriate content ...

    Loved this movie

    It was so darn funny even grandchildren loved it and sat through the whole movie The whole family laughed so hard. I highly recommend this movie for all ages from 5 to ages 73
