Narcissus in Chains is part of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. In a world where vampires, were-creatures, and zombies are real, there has to be justice even concerning the undead. Anita Blake is not only the Executioner, but she is the main squeeze of the Master of the City. Things are heating up as leaders and important people in the were-animal societies go missing. In this book we meet a few new characters and Anita faces the very likely possiblity of being not only a Vampire Servant, but a were-leopard. This edition to the series delves into the deep, dark underworld of the S and M culture. If you're not up for being tied up by this plot, too bad, you're not using the safe word. FLAP SAYS: 6 MONTHS have now passed since anita has seen either jean claude or richard. 6 months of celibacy. 6 months of indecision. 6 months of danger. for her body carries the marks of both vampire and werewolf and until the triumvirate is consummated all three remain vulnerable. you really can't read this book unless you have read the previous books, this book is the CHANGE book, this incubus dreams and cerulean sins are the best 3 books of the series thus far. nathaniel gets in over his head and he must be rescued. but first anita and richard and jc must close those marks. my first favorite scene is jason and anita, when they meet out side the club and the other is when he tells anita to breathe, lol. they close the marks, etc etc. and then anita goes to the rescue, and gets hurt. ... ONE of my other favorite scenes is with anita and jc. you could ask me for my heart or something to that effect but u ask for a toothbrush........ loved it. alot of people have problems with these books because anita gains the ardeur, and i really like it, but others have not been able to handle it. some see the micah scene as rape, others don't. HOWEVER, my all time favorite scene in this book is 193. i want to scream GO ANITA...... oh i wanted to mention that anita also has to deal with the consequences of her being gone for 6 months,. especially with damien,gretchen...... and she must deal with richard. it really gets annoying that anita has to anaylize everything before sex, but she does, there is a pretty good line from nathaniel in one of the future books, in regards to this.

This was a great book. I have read the other book that she has out and I wanted to continue with this story. So far she has 14 book out and now I have read them all in the past 6 months and they are not small books. This books continues the tale of Anita Blake Vampire Executioner. I wouldnt recommend reading this book unless you have read the others. I would recommend however that everyone read the series. I have even gotten alot of my friends to read it.This was a great book. I have read the other book that she has out and I wanted to continue with this story. So far she has 14 book out and now I have read them all in the past 6 months and they are not small books. This books continues the tale of Anita Blake Vampire Executioner. I wouldnt recommend reading this book unless you have read the others. I would recommend however that everyone read the series. I have even gotten alot of my friends to read it.

Amazing story and fantastical plots. Worth every second.
Narcissus and Asher and Micah and Nathaniel. What more do I need to say? Drama, action and wonderful romance. My mother ready Guilty Pleasures, The Laughing Corspse and Circus of the Damned and then went straight to Narcissus in Chains because of the summery on the back. She still doesn't regret it. Wonderful book, fantastic story and character development.
