Voodoo Lab Uni-Vibe
This the pedal type that Jimi Hendrix and Robin Trower use that was originally made by another company. Voodoo Labs is much better in construction and reliability. The demo's on you tube show you are it's capabilities. All pedals from this company all built to very high standards in the USA. The LED lights up when the pedal is on and the signal is not colored when it is off. Voodoo Labs also have the manuals available on their website for free download. I have six of the pedals, and they are well built and sound great.
Ok effect, not what I needed in a vibe though...
I was looking to upgrade from an old rotovibe that's seen better days and went with this. It has a decent sound clean, but really gets lost with any kind of drive on top. I use a tube screamer and sometimes a golden cello and instead of creating a hendrix at Woodstock sound, it just muddys the everything. I'm probably going to sell this and go with the mxr uni vibe pedal. The problem with the micro vibe is that it does not have a level control, so you obviously can't boost the effect in your chain. That said, for someone who prefers a more subtle uni vibe sound this might be for them. This pedal just doesn't have the depth of the effect that I like, even when dialed all the way up. I'd rather have something that has settings that go over the top so I can dial it back. I've had this, the rotovibe I mentioned and the Jim Dunlop uni vibe. I'd say this is by far the weakest and least versatile of the three, and it doesn't have the chorus either. Bad on me for not trying one out in person, but you live and learn.
9 volt input port, Intensity and Speed adjustment for Hendrix/Trower sound!
I bought a Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe Uni-Vibe Guitar Effect Pedal because I was looking for that Jimi Hendrix/Robin Trower type sound. I saw a guy using one on youtube and knew this was the one I needed. The features I like about this effect are the 9 volt input port (I can plug it in to my powered pedal board), and the Intensity and Speed controls (allow me to set the pedal for the exact sound that I a seeking. I would buy the product again, and would suggest it to a friend who was looking for a good Uni-Vibe effect.
This is a nice warm vibe
So there are literally wars about who's Vibe is closest to the Uni-Vibe. I say who cares. I have a few Vibes but I use this one because it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling and a sound that I can leave on without it sounding like a gimmick. This is a nice pedal and I will openly disclose that I have every Voodoo Lab pedal on my pedal board except the Bosstone (because I can't find one)
