Perfect!
This is my 3yos favorite movie. Ours has a major scratch but this was a perfect replacement for her Peter rabbit movies that she begs for. Classic BBC rendition of Peter rabbit, the floppy’s bunnies, and Jemima puddle duck.

Beautiful classic stories, but best for older children
Beautiful animations based on the beloved illustrations from Beatrix Potter--all the classic soft images of Beatrix's well-known critters and the English countryside--truly a treat to watch. I find myself looking at the background more often than the story that is happening, simply because it is a glimpse into that long-gone era of farmhouse country living--onions hanging from the ceiling, post & beam construction, shuttered windows, rain barrels...simply luscious! I do wish that there were more of her stories on this--There are only six stories, and I have seen on other older DVDs that there are more of her stories available. It would be nice if there were all of the stories animated in one volume or a box set of some sort. Since Beatrix's stories are true to life in that her ... Since Beatrix's stories are true to life in that her characters always seem to be happening upon some sort of animal-oriented crisis, there are portions of the tales that are rather frightening for a younger child. When reading her books, the stories don't play out in such a vivid manner--animation has a more realistic effect on a child's mind. For instance, in the Jemima Puddle-Duck tale, the scene of the dogs attacking the fox was a bit scary. Additionally, even the simplicity of Mr. McGregor chasing after Peter was a little on the dramatic side--Trumped up music adds to the panic effect. We have read this story over and over to our little one (age 2 1/2), and she was never afraid of the story until she saw it on this DVD. Perhaps for an older child, these scenes will not be quite as fearful. Overall though, a wonderful series that you will treasure for years to come!

Such a classic!
I love the Beatrix Potter books to begin with. Got this movie for my 3-year old daughter but my 2 older kids who are 15 (girl) and 13 (boy) remembered watching this when they were little and now has become a favorite dvd in our home! They now watch it almost everyday with their baby sister. They also love to have to book out and read along. The movie has great characters kids cannot help but love!I love the Beatrix Potter books to begin with. This excellent production of well loved classic tales does the books proud!
Bought this for myself as well as my grandchildren. Love the production, music and artwork from beginning to end. Practically perfect in every way:) All ages will love these comforting yet quirky tales with nice watercolor style animation. Less expensive on VHS, but easy enough to find on DVD.
