About this product

Product Information

Any possible US victory in Vietnam depended on two very different air campaigns, both aimed at cutting the Communists' supply lines on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. In northern Laos, this was Operation Barrel Roll - much of which was improvised, highly secret, and sometimes completely unofficial. Here, daring pilots flew antiquated but effective prop-driven A-26As and T-28s against the North Vietnamese and Pathet Lao. Ex-USAF "Raven" FACs flew Cessna spotter aircraft deep behind enemy lines on behalf of the CIA and mercenary tribesmen, while reconnaissance and rescue aircrews flew perilous missions in support. Steel Tiger, the campaign further south, was much better resourced - but still, the US had to devise tactics and technology for an air war against near-invisible guerrillas, truckers, and porters. This was the campaign that brought the first B-52 Arc Light strikes, and a fearsome new series of American fixed-wing gunships, from the AC-47 Spooky to the AC-130 Spectre. This fascinating book unveils how this decade-long, cat-and-mouse air war was fought, and why the United States' huge efforts were never enough to cut the Trail. Includes: Battlescenes, Bird's-Eye Views, Maps and Diagrams, Expert Analysis Book jacket.

Reviews
"Peter Davies and illustrator Adam Tooby have crafted a valuable history of the transportation web ... The photographs alone are an education, and Mr Tooby contributes some impressive paintings of warplanes in action over the trail, which by 1975 had become a network of asphalt highway thousands of miles in length." - War Bird Forum "The Ho Chi Minh Trail, which helped supply North Vietnamese and Vietcong forces during the Vietnam War, certainly deserves a volume of its own." - Foreign Affairs

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
