This one works! This is quite a bit faster than my Qualcomm internal wifi on my laptop. This is because this adapter uses the usb 3.0 line to your computer. Tested: Bandwidth Place, 28.93 mb/sec download, and 20.46 mb/sec upload. This uses the new realtek software/drivers. You don't have to do anythig, just plug it in and go. Works with Windows 10. Line speed receive/transmit is 86/86 (Mbps) Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Again faster than the built in wifi. I wished I had purchased sooner.This one works! Limited instructions, but works great with added security and 5 GHz WiFi for older computers
This external WiFi was intended to allow an older laptop to use the 5 GHz WiFi band and upgraded security and does what was intended and quite well. The only issue that occurred was that upon installing the software and configuration, it just started working in the background and while I expected to have to start it for the first time, It was running, and running very well. I have 2 different passwords for both WiFi Bands, and did not have the 2.4 GHz WiFi enabled, only the 5 GHz Band enabled and am very happy with the performance of this unit. Distance is about 125' between the house and the shed out back on a 1/2 acre property.This external WiFi was intended to allow an older laptop to use the 5 GHz WiFi band and upgraded security and does what was intended and quite well. The only issue that occurred was that upon installing the software and configuration, it just started working in the background and while I expected to have to start it for the first time, It was running, and running very well.
