Not bad for an obscure title
For some reason my friend when we were kids had a knack at finding some of the weirdest, obscure games. I guess I conformed more to the conventional titles in my younger years and I would mock him for playing such strange games. That's the ignorance of youth for you. When my friend got Conquest of the Crystal Palace for his birthday, I was dumbfounded. I never heard of the game before and never recall seeing it at a store, so I am still at a loss on how he was able to find this game. Nevertheless, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Conquest was actually a fun and well made game. Conquest has above average graphics for an NES game. The colors are bright and the characters are well defined. The music was actually the thing that caught my attention, especially the first level's. ... I would just play the first level, just so I could listen to it. It is probably one of the most memorable NES tunes I can recall. Gameplay comes in the form of an action platformer. You have the tricky jumps and killing enemies with your sword. You also have a dog that assists you, but I can't really recall exactly what he does since I haven't played this game in a few eons. The control is a little loose and can cause some trouble, but this doesn't mar the game much, it just takes some getting used to. Conquest is above average when it comes to challenge. I do recall having to earn my dues in Conquest. Conquest if far from impossible and the challenge isn't frustrating. Though I am have been at odds with my friend about a lot of things, I have to give him credit to exposing me to games I would of otherwise of missed due to my more conventional tastes. If you are a fan of NES games, I would very much recommend finding Conquest and adding it to your collection.

Conquest of the Crystal Palace has been an unknown treasure to me, until this month (Aug 2022). I grew up in the NES era, and missed out on this wonderful game! It has instantly become one of my new favorites! A hidden gem for sure! Highly Recommended!!

Amazing game that noone knows about.
I love this game so much, it's basically an awesome platformer with light rpg elements. You find this girl in each level who will sell you items like health supplies or defensive items. Idk what to say its a neat gem and if you ever get a chance you should try it.
