Informative,largely factual--with little conjecture about the people talked about in this book, or of the politics of the time. Very interesting.
Grand Duchess Olga, sister of Czar Nicholas II--the last Czar of Russia, had a life, in her early years, of palatial luxury in her native country of Imperial Russia. But as Russia sank into the quicksand of World War I, Grand Duchess Olga served her nation as a hard working nurse at the front, and sharing in the hardships and deprivations of life serving as a nurse at the front. And later, as her country slid into anarchy and into revolution, she survived an attempt on her life at the very hospital she served at. As a Romanov, she had to flee, and thus began one of the most interesting stories of survival and hardship of the early 20th century. Olga Romanov is one of the most interesting people the world has ever seen.
