About this product

Product Information

Gamers are invited to embark on a branching, player-driven solo campaign, or join a 140 square mile game world for large online PvP battles in ArmA II, the third release in Bohemia Interactive Studio's modern warfare series. Players control Sgt. Patrick Miles and his five-man team of Marines as they use more than 150 vehicles, wield over 70 different weapons, and manage their important resources throughout the fictional Soviet state of Chernarus. The action was designed to be intense and realistic, with adaptive AI, bullet ballistics and deflection, dynamic weather effects, and terrain based on real-world geographical data. The main campaign changes depending upon how players interact with the various local factions, but creative gamers can also use the built-in level editor to design simple missions or elaborate original campaigns.

  • ArmA 2 (PC Games, 2008)

If you are looking for another FPS, like COD or CSS or even Gears of War, this is not the game for you. ArmA II brings realism to the table. Everything matters! The single player on this game is pretty intense, it simulates a real life war scenario and allows you to play as different countries with all the different weapons and vehicles you could imagine. The controls can easily become annoying, because you really have to use the whole keyboard on this game. There are so many actions and so many different buttons to do different things that it just becomes difficult to even remember them, at the start that is. The graphics on this game are superb. The blur camera motion and the texture detail is just astonishing. The environments are vast and very serene and really make you feel like ...

  • Despite Flaws, you will not find more realistic combat.

First off, this game is a challege. If you like shooters where you just run through blasting away you're gonna hate this game. Because that's not how combat in real life works, it's a slow, maticulas process. This game is about as realistic as shooters today can be, the graphics are flawless. I have dual sli 8800 GTS graphics card with a Q6600 processor running 2.4x4 and I can't get the settings at a stable framerate above "normal" settings; so the game is a bit demanding, keep that in mind. It still looks great though. The only problem with this game is the bugs, it is pretty full of them. One mission actually is impossible to beat because the guy you are looking for does not exist. Thankfully there are cheatcodes to end the mission. With the codes you'll be able to circumvent ...

  • AWESOME concept HORRIBLE bugs

Just a few things to say. Ive been looking forward to get this game for a while and unfortunately I was really disapointing. The concept is incredibly awesome as far as buidling your base and units in a 3d first person or 1st person environment. Usually base buidling and such is based on an overview layout and the player doesnt get the option to be 1st person with detail. So thats a huge pro. Sadly though, its one of the buggiest games I have ever played. Almost worse than Merceneries 2. Even up to date with patches, you get unexpected crashes, you get stuck in between doors, movement is sluggish most the time, ordering units is a hassle. The story line is awkwardly played. The voice sometimes stutters and repeats itself in a funky overlaying/echoing sound. The voice when the story is ...

  • Awesome if you have just the right system else painful to play.

I'm disappointed because though I believe that if I spent a several more laborious hours attempting to fix the issue I get video lag or cpu lag with this game that I have yet to be able to correct. I have an i7 950 cpu OC'ed to a stable 3.31GHz with 8GB DDR3 RAM at 1640MHz, a GTX 590 at OEM settings with a GTX 260 OC as the dedicated Physics card on a WIN 7 Ultimate 64-bit platform with all of the Windows updates blahblah... I play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 at their highest settings with no lag whatsoever but cannot get this game to run smoothly at the lowest settings... Wish I could give it a good review because consoles are dumbing down the tech used in the gaming industry so we're stuck with rehashed graphics technology and stupid AI and this game was designed just for the PC (which is ...

  • Real War!!!

I would have to say if your looking for a run and gun FPS this is not for you. The maps are huge. This is a game of strategy as well as a good FPS. The A.I. in it is amazingly smart. I would say this is a game that people should try if you like free choice war games. If you looking for a GREAT FPS and it is FREE as well go download "Americas Army 3" One of the best games I have ever played bar none.
