Once again, Kidd saves the day!!
I have been reading John Sandford books for last year and usually they are a good read. I bought THE EMPRESS FILE to continue my journey and read his entire series. If you can completely set aside reality and what motivates the characters to act how they do, it is a good book. The story starts out with "small town" corrupt cops shooting an innocent kid that they mistakenly think has committed a crime. Then the cover up. We then discover how vast the corruption is within the city government. This it must be stopped! But how? A few computer messages from the victim's friends to our,up to now uninvolved, "Heroes", Kidd and LuEllen, has resulted in a master plan to make things right. Kidd hangs around a little too long and gets beat up and two more folks are crossed off of the roster. The underdogs in the story are now in power and all is right with the world. Our heroes..... They have gone off ready for another adventure.
