Massive with a good stand
I was really surprised by how massive this stone is. It was a real treat to open the package and lift the stone out to inspect it. I am sure that people who are used to buying whetstones think of this as normal but it was special to me. This is a stone that I have trouble imagine ever getting ground down to a state where I will have to replace it and my first test using it shows the quality of the product. My one recommendation is to be generous with the use of the nagura stone before the first use since the surface has a glossy texture that does not give immediate feedback while sharpening.I was really surprised by how massive this stone is. My favorite stone!
Fantastic finishing stone! I don’t foresee ever needing to go to a higher grit for finishing off kitchen knives. The stone is super smooth and fun to work on. This is my favorite stone! The attached base is the best one of all my stones. Tommy

the best fine stone for the money
I've had grinding stones before This is the finest stone I have ever worked with. In any case, in order to achieve great results, a good knife is needed. For your cheap knives buy a low grit stone like 1000-800.

8000 sharpening stone
Japanese make the best sharpening stones IMHO. This one is huge, heavy, comes with a stand. Haven’t used it yet but will soon.

Wonderful polishing stone
This is my go-to final polishing stone. Very fast cutting action (clean it frequently with the nagura stone, provided) . A few splashes of water and you are good to go. This stone is harder then some others and requires less reflattening. Leaves a mirror finish on your cutting tools. Real wooden base as well- keep it stored properly and I think- given how thick it is - the only polishing stone you will ever need.This is my go-to final polishing stone.
