Enjoyed. Not as much as LAwak, but well worth reading
Let me preface this by saying I LOVE this series, esp. Lover Awakened. But I can't really say I enjoyed Phury's story. The writing was, as always, top notch, and there is a ton of story here. And Ward depicts the addicts personality and behavior to a T. The book is definitely worth reading. Phury's story, however, is hard to read. I didn't like Phury much in this book, so it made rooting for him harder. Frankly, from the beginning, I was surprised he was so lost to addiction. I wouldn't have pegged him for an addict in the other books, esp. as the others seem to share the red smoke with him so often. In fact, the abrupt change in the behavior of the other brothers toward Phury, is one of the problems I had. Why weren't they on the outs with him before? Phury does partially redeem himself ... I guess overall I would have liked Phury to triumph more definitively in the end, but that isn't how life works for addicts. Maybe that too is why I didn't enjoy it much. I've known real addicts. They aren't much fun. Cudos to Ward for staying true to what an addict is. I hope Phury redeems himself more completely in the next books.

BACK OF BOOK SAYS: FIERCELY LOYAL TO THE BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOOD PHURY HAS sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the brotherhood's bloodlines alive. as primale of the chosen, he is obligated to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished. ok, so it's pet peeve time: the old i'm breaking up with you for your own good. I really enjoyed the john/quinn/blay story line, especially since the author went someplace with this that she didn't go with butch/v. also the tohr story line had an interesting twist. the phury/cormia story line was at times fustrating, but the ending was also modern. i can't wait for lash to get ... Phury & Cormia's story - #6 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. As a fan of the BDB, I was slightly disappointed in this chapter of the series. Maybe this was due to JRW's all-too-accurate depiction of Phury's failings, which seemed to outweigh his strengths "in spades." To me, this book was more a vehicle for introducing "the next batch" of warriors, (interesting, sexy and kick-a$$ as they are!) - a lot of "change" to get to grips with, with Phury's story more incidental than in the forefront of things...there are a lot of new characters to get to grips with! Having said that, if you're a JRW fan, this is still enjoyable and a really good read - just don't expect it to be "more of the same" as her other books in the series.Phury & Cormia's story - #6 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. A must Read Book! I loved it!
Lover Enshrined by J R Ward is the story of Phury & Cormia. This is the 6th book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. I really have enjoyed this entire Series! Phury is a Complex Charater with lots of problems of his own including being a Warrior for the Vampire Race and the responsibility of making sure the brotherhoods bloodlines continues....add in Cormia in as his First mate with her sheltered life and you get a very compelling story! Will Cormia win Phury heart & soul or will Phury choose duty over love! Lover Enshrined is a Must Read! This is my all time favorite Series! I can't wait for Lover Avenged to be released 2009! Very good book!!
This book is part of a very good series about the Black Daggers. This book gave answers to some open questions but also opened up more questions. Although it's a very good plot, I was hoping for total closure. The way writers will drag a story. The having to wait a whole year for the next book has gotten OLD! Fortunately, the next book is due in October. I recommend this book/series to anyone who loves kick-ass books with paranormal romance (that doesn't take over the whole story),that enmeshes you into another world/society. The writer knows how to make the men sensitive but OH SO manly! You'll be looking at your guy wondering how come he doesn't measure up!!LOL Read the whole series and you will not be disappointed.This book is part of a very good series about the Black Daggers.
