Great upgrade from the HVX 200
I bought it to upgrade from the HVX200 and what an upgrade it is. The viewfinder is sharp and lets you see focus and the focus enhancement feature which put red outlines around whatever is in focus is a big help. The menu navigation joystick on the side of the camera is much easier to use than the button system on the 200. The fact that it lets you shoot in PAL is a bonus and might come in handy for shooter traveling to Europe. And the AVC-intra 100 codec is gives you first rate image quality. For those who have to shoot extreme long form video, there is an AVC-intra 50 mode which doubles your shooting time on the P2 card. The digital zoom at 2X still produces a usable image, at 5X not so much and 10X is completely unusable. I don't even want to shoot with my HVX 200 anymore but kept it as ... I bought it to upgrade from the HVX200 and what an upgrade it is. Very nice camera!!!
Excellent camera for the money easy to use and to travel with. I had the HVX 200 and this is a much better camera.
