Die tschechische Avantgarde-Bewegung durchzog nicht nur die bildende Kunst, sondern auch die Architektur, Literatur, Poesie, Musik, das Theater und den Film. Die Publikation zur Ausstellung im Bröhan-Museum gibt einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Strömungen der tschechischen Moderne. Ausgehend vom tschechischen Kubismus und dem Surrealismus über Architektur, Möbeldesign und Fotografie wird die lebendige Kunst- und Designgeschichte Tschechiens vermittelt. Anhand von Gemälden, Grafiken, Collagen, Skulpturen und Fotografien ruft der Band die kreativen Ideen in Erinnerung und würdigt den tschechischen Beitrag zur europäischen Moderne.
