Nice phone for a good price
I usually buy used phones for my family because most have lots of life in them and the price is so right. This phone falls into that catagory, the history of this model says it was introduced in 2012, and I guess I can believe that. She arrived in pretty good shape however the previous owner used scotch tape to hold the SIM card in, and of course, the sim would not work with my contract for some damn reason. I activated her on line, well tried to, but it just would not work. So Verizon tells me that the sim cards are free I should just get the right one and all would be well. So I waited till Monday, and headed to the local radio station, where they sell and service Verizon equipment. Come to find out, the damn sim cards are NOT free unless you go to the Verizon Store, the nearest one ... Then it took about an HOUR to unscrew things up that the lady had messed up trying to activate for me. Finally my good wife of 45 years tells me to call her cell, so I tried and behold it RANG! So I took her phone and called my new one, and it to RANG!! So somehow Verizon took pity on an old fart and got my new old phone working, and the old Verizon branded Casio is being retired to standby in case another phone dies or gets lost/stolen or some such tragedy. I liked the Casio but it came with so much crap I never used that I could not add the crap I do use when motor homing it across America. That said, this phone does exactly what I want, using the Windows 8 system that I wanted, and is more pleasing to me then the iPhone 4 that I had before the Casio, and the Casio that I picked up so it would work with my cheap ass Chinese smart watches that were really garbage and not worth the money I paid for them in the first place. This model phone has a lot of fans out there, and really does a nice job, that said, it won't fit my phone case so i must find another one to carry her on my belt. Oh well life goes on and we old farts must learn to adjust to the changing world

Nice phone.Good features in Windows Phone 8.1, solid performer, some cons.
With all the trash talk about Windows Phones I was a little hesitant when I purchased this phone, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Now I must say that coming from Android to this phone was a bit of a switch, and not all things are gold, but for the most part it works really well. As a matter of fact, I kept my Galaxy S4 jut in case I hated this phone, but I have not switched back. Almost all of the apps I used on Android is available in the Windows Store, ALMOST. There are a few that do not exist. One thing which is minor to most people but is a major headache to me was trying to view my surveillance system over my phone. I was able to do this with ease over Android, but on the HTC it has proved impossible. Non of the apps work that are for IP cameras. The other thing missing is ... I cant believe I said that, but there is no way to play it on this phone, even though I was able to upgrade it to Windows Phone 8.1. Oh well, like I said minor... The phone itself works very smoothly and has quick response. The overall size is a bit smaller than the S4 I had, but it is large enough to see fairly well even with my aging eyes. I LOVE Cortana, the personal assistant! It works fabulously. So much better than Google's or Samsungs. Windows Phone 8.1 is a real improvement and has many features. The HTC 8X performs admirably nd has turned out to be a phone I really like. The bad things are there is no place for an SD Card, the battery is permanent, The power button is really awkward to use, and there is no way to turn off the 3 soft key backlights on the front of the phone. Overall it gets a good score from me, but time will tell if I go back to Android.

Great Win 8 phone, for a great price!
This device is very nice. Size of device is just big enough to fit into your hand and allow your fingers to touch most of the screen. Functions like any other Win 8 phone with the added bonus of having Beats audio (which is hard to tell the difference when it is on with certain types and brands of speakers). The advantage of a Win 8 device is that you can link your Microsoft account with the device and the device will sync all of your settings automatically and also comes with lite versions of MS Word and the like. I have both Android and W8 phones and this phone almost made me drop the Android all together (**hint...hint...the Android is my work line that my work pays for**). It is not a high dollar Nokia, but it is a decent phone for a decent price. It has received a four star rating ... This device is very nice. Great phone, definitely a phone to buy if you go the Windows Phone 8 Route
This phone is a very good phone for those who would like to experience the Windows Phone 8 experience. I used to have android phones but decided to switch to a windows phone. My motivation behind the move was that I only used the phone for talk, text, email, and internet (at least I thought). Pros: - Very fast boot and snappy when opening apps or switching screens - Email loads quickly - Internet is very easy to hook up (WiFi) - Very easy to use User Interface and easy to get used to it. - Very aestetically pleasing - Can survive drops from small height very well - Speakers are amazing and the addition of Dre Beats for he headphones (headphones only) makes the sound through headphones or attached speakers much more crisp. - Updates are easy to do and download in the background Cons: - ... Most games or even things like google plus or even facebook messanger aren't on the windows phone. (Windows Phone 8 problem). - Cannot easily close apps (like using a task manager) besides repeatedly clicking the back button over and over and over again. (Windows Phone 8 problem). - If you have the wireless on, sometimes texts will not go through and keep bouncing back saying that the message cannot be sent. Try again. The only way to remedy this situation is to turn off the wireless and restart the phone. Very inconvenient but this is an issue with Windows Phone 8 and not this phone in particular.

Battery Blues, But Overall Good Phone
Really good phone. However, the down side of ordering cell phones online is that I need insurance for this phone. The phone works great, but the phone is already starting to not hold a charge, and I have NO insurance available. I ordered two Window phones. One is working pretty well, and the other one will not hold a battery charge for long. The sound works great, the pictures are clear, and the videos turn out nice too.
