New Sterner still pretty good!
I've used original Sterner capos since about 1987; they were exact, precise, small, and elegant, all at once. I neglected to buy multiples, and when mine wore out, and I attempted to purchase another, they were out of business! I actually called the creator in Sweden, but he had none left. I was devastated. Remember, these capos were designed for "low profile" guitar necks, not the larger necks now on the 1.75". So, on a lark, I rechecked ebay for "Sterner", and there were "copies" of the original!! I bought one. Here's the deal: They're still elegant and small, and work quite well, and I'm glad I bought one. I find the new ones lack a larger "screw down wheel" , making it a bit less handy; a larger wheel would help putting on and taking off. Also, the "female" that absorbs the ... I've used original Sterner capos since about 1987; they were exact, precise, small, and elegant, all at once. Also, the "width" of the "bar" is "longer" than the original, indicating that you can use these new Sterners on the 1.75" necks, but the "screw" itself and the "female" do not allow a lot of clearance, so it's harder to "adjust" this new Sterner onto a 1.75" neck. The "low profile" neck, being smaller, does not have this problem. Still, the new Sterner can work for the wider necks, whereas the original could not. I was able to piece together parts of my old Sterners, and I use that old one still, with the new Sterner as a backup. But, NOBODY has the old Sterners; I've never seen one! So, if you're looking for a capo, and I've seen them all, I suggest buying the new Sterner. Not quite as good as the old Sterner, but better than most any other capo I seen or tried. Pick one up!

Great and very light product. Also, well priced! Make sure to give enough clearance on the top the capo (releasing the screw) in relation the width of the guitar neck. Otherwise, if forced in, could scratch the varnish or the wood.
