    Fell short!

    So much hype and fell so short! So many bands in this era and so many one hit wonders. Had to give them a try and this will be weed out of my collection soon.

    Slap a Smile on Your Face

    Knockout raw? Knockout wild? Knockout cool? You bet! Check out "Psycho" or "Strychnine" or "The Witch" if you truly wish to know what garage and punk is all about—which is perhaps why bands like Nirvana and The White Stripes mention the band as an influence. "Have Love Will Travel" surprised me but only because it's a Lee Hazelwood composition (think Nancy Sinatra). Like all the covers in Here Are the Sonics, the bands make the music their own. If this CD doesn't slap a smile on your face, you're dead. Highly recommended. BTW, though this CD is from Big Beat, there is no booklet of any kind, which is a shame given the band's reputation. The disc comes in a digipak and clocks in at just under 30 minutes.
