About this product

Product Information

Meticulously researched, this book reveals the agonizing day-to-day wait of Mainers for news of what really happened on the Titanic, and tells the stories of Maine passengers from their boarding to the sinking and rescue; and, for those who survived, of their coming ashore in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It's a fascinating addition to the Titanic story.

Reviews
Mainers on the Titanic traced the stories of passengers on that fateful ship who had ties to Maine. . . .Their tales are retold in a lively way here, along with the sinking related events in the state at that time. Meticulously researched, this book reaveals the agonizing day-to-day wait of Mainers for news of what happened to their loved ones. . . .It's a unique and fascinating addition to the Titanic story and to Maine history., Stockton Springs author Mac Smith's debut nonfiction book tells the dramatic story from a unique angle. . . .This is a gripping tale of life and death at sea, where heroism, sacrifice, grief and survival reveal much about men and women in deadly crisis. . . .He smartly includes the chaos and confusion among the public desperate for news, the primitive system of wireless radio communication and the shameless frenzy of newspapers to scoop salacious tidbits and businesses taking ghoulish advantage of this maritime disaster., Until I read Mainers on the Titanic, I had no idea of the scope of that tragedy or how it impacted our state. Mac Smith of Stockton Springs brings it home, in a very compelling way. I was captivated - and astonished.Published this year by Down East Books, this is no dull history. Mac's book includes everything from various newspapers' accounts to poems written by survivors and others. It's not a long book, just 200 pages, but Mainers on the Titanic is a story you will never forget.

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Enjoyed reading this book and bought a second copy to pass on!

Excellent transaction and I found it to be a very interesting book. Personally know some of the family members of those who perished. Because of that aspect I may be more inclined to find it fascinating.
