About this product

Product Information

The second novel in #1 New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris's "addictively entertaining" ( Locus ) Sookie Stackhouse series--the inspiration for the HBO(R) original series True Blood . Even though Sookie has her own vampire to look out for her--her red-hot, cold-blooded boyfriend, Bill Compton--she has to admit that the bloodsuckers did save her life. So when one of the local Undead asks the cocktail waitress for a favor, she feels like she owes them. Soon, Sookie's in Dallas using her telepathic skills to search for a missing vampire. She's supposed to interview certain humans involved. There's just one condition: The vampires must promise to behave--and let the humans go unharmed. Easier said than done. All it takes is one delicious blonde and one small mistake for things to turn deadly...

Reviews
Praise for #1 New York Times  bestselling author Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels "It's the kind of book you look forward to reading before you go to bed, thinking you're only going to read one chapter, and then you end up reading seven."--Alan Ball, executive producer of True Blood "Vivid, subtle, and funny in her portrayal of southern life."-- Entertainment Weekly "Charlaine Harris has vividly imagined telepathic barmaid Sookie Stackhouse and her small-town Louisiana milieu, where humans, vampires, shapeshifters, and other sentient critters live...Her mash-up of genres is delightful, taking elements from mysteries, horror stories, and romances."-- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel "The series continues to be inventive and funny with an engaging, smart, and sexy heroine."-- The Denver Post "Blending action, romance, and comedy, Harris has created a fully functioning world so very close to our own, except, of course, for the vamps and other supernatural creatures."-- The Toronto Star

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Funny & dark at the same time

If you enjoy a good vampire story mixed with dark humor and a love story read Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse stories. Quick read, hard to put down. Each story in this series develops the characters a little bit more and you learn more about them personally and what significance they play or might play in relation to Sookie. Sookie is fun, and part of her charm is that she is an endearing accident-prone airhead who you can't help but like and want to hear more about. The blood and gore is definately there, but the love (hate) triangle between Sookie and Bill the main vampire character and Sam, Sookie's boss who is also a shapeshifter is hard to resist. New characters are also introduced in this 2nd book of the series who you can't help but feel that they will be much more ...

  • Simply Wonderful! ~ Action & Mystery! ~ Lots of FUN!

This is the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse Series! It was Just as good as the first! This Book has Nonstop Action and is a Great Mystery! Sookie gets herself into trouble every time HER Vampire Bill is DEAD or out of town! I just couldn't seem to put this book down! This is a fun Book with a love story added in! This is a fast easy read and a fun series! I do recommend you read them in order! Simply Wonderful! Check my Guides for the READING ORDER!

  • Original concept

Really enjoyed this book, it's the second in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I got into reading this as I saw True Blood which is the TV series based on these books. I really like the way it stays true to the standard vampire stuff like being allergic to sunlight and the like, but has its own little twists. For instance, the way the lead character, Sookie is human but has her own power. In a way it is a little like Twilight in that she can hear people's thoughts, but not the thoughts of "Vampire Bill" her now boyfriend (who she meets in the first book). However, this is a lot more grown-up than Twilight, for one thing it's raunchier! The characters are great, especially the main character, Sookie. The best part for me is the fact that the way they react is believable. When you are reading ...

  • Charlaine harris DEAD series Dallas vampire mystery

Let me start by saying that I purchased this book and had it finished in 2 days. I just couldn't put it down. This is the second book in the DEAD series where the action continues for Sookie Stackhouse and her vampire BILL. Since Sookie has been dating Bill, it seems everytime she turns around she is getting herself in trouble. This book starts out with a bang as Sookie discovers a coworker has been murdered. The story keeps going strong as Sookie and Bill travel to Dallas to help out fellow vampires to solve their own mystery. Not stop action with a love story- just loved this. I can't wait to read the next one. Make sure and check out my guide for the reading order of this series.

  • I couldn't put this book down!!!!

This book is very easy to follow, as part of the vampire series, you can start with this book, get the following books or go back to the first book on this series by Charlaine Harris Vampire Series, I know you will enjoy this book as much as I did.
