Reviews
"[A] fun fantasy romance…There's plenty of action, with battles against raiders and magical creatures, a bard who isn't what he appears, and an evil mage-but there's also plenty of humor, and some sweet moments of mischief and romance."- Locus "I ran across Patricia Briggs-literally-at our local book store, while sorting through the shelves looking for another book. The cover art intrigued me, then I read the first page and went straight to the counter. This is a "Beauty and the Beast" story but unlike any I've ever read. Ms. Briggs blends adventure, romance, and innovative fantasy with a deft hand. Highly recommend this one to all my readers."- S. L. Viehl, author of the Stardoc series "It is easy to like Patricia Briggs's novels. Her books are perfect for a Friday evening or a late Sunday afternoon when you don't want to have to work to enjoy your reading. Her books are clever, engaging, fast-moving and with plots that manage to be thought-provoking without being heavy-handed. A warning, however-make sure you don't start the dinner cooking or the lawn watering before you curl up with one of her books, because you'll end up with a burnt dinner and a soggy lawn and an enjoyable few hours lost in another world."- Romantic SF & Fantasy, "A clever mystery with appealing characters in a fantasy setting...topnotch reading fare."-- RT Book Reviews "An interesting cross between a murder mystery, romance, and fantasy."-- VOYA "[A] fun fantasy romance...There's plenty of action, with battles against raiders and magical creatures, a bard who isn't what he appears, and an evil mage--but there's also plenty of humor, and some sweet moments of mischief and romance."-- Locus "Ms. Briggs blends adventure, romance, and innovative fantasy with a deft hand. Highly recommend this one to all my readers."--S. L. Viehl, author of the Stardoc series

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

I bought this book because I enjoy Brigg's writings. This is very much a feel good book. Aren, the main character, and her fellow villagers face creatures they have never heard of and don't know how to deal with when a bloodmage tears the magical bindings off of the earth. When this happens the earth shakes an a nearby mountain actually collapses trapping the people in their valley along with raiders who kill all of Aren's family. Pent up magic bursts forth and Aren finds herself forced to deal with visions that don't always arrive in time to help. As they find themselves in need of assistance, the villagers decide that they are willing to deal with the local hob, one of the newly reappeared creatures of the wild, as long as it will help them to survive. The hob then starts to train ...
