    A La Casa De La Trova- Eliades Ochoa, Cuban Son

    This CD was released in 2005 and features a sample of songs recorded from 1981 to 1996 by Eliades Ochoa. Eliades Ochoa became famous on Buena Vista Social Club as a master of the guitar and tres and as a singer of the traditional songs of Cuba. There is a song titled "Son a la Casa de la Trova" by Julio Rodriguez that Eliades Ochoa has been playing since he took over the Cuarteto Patria group in 1979. The Casa de la Trova is an actual place on Heredia street in Santiago. It is a special place that continues to draw the top musicians when they are in eastern Cuba. The words to "Son a la Casa de la Trova" tell a great deal about the place: "When you go to Santiago, my friend, I'll take you To my dearest place That you're going to love.
