About this product

Product Information

The rich and diversified archaeological record recovered at Asana--which spans from 10,000 to 3,500 years ago--includes the earliest houses as well as public and ceremonial buildings in the central cordillera. Built, used, and abandoned over many millennia, the Asana structures completely transform our understanding of the antiquity and development of native American architecture. Aldenderfer's detailed archaeological case study of high elevation foraging adaptation, his description of this extreme environment as a viable human habitat, and his theoretical model of montane foraging create a new understanding of the lifeways of foraging peoples worldwide.

Reviews
"The specific archaeological record that Aldenderfer has recovered in his multiyear project is quite important. His primary site, Asana, is the most important open-air forager site to be investigated in the Andes. It has detailed stratigraphy and an excellent chronology well backed by dates. Aldenderfer makes a very valuable contribution to archaeology in this volume."--John W. Rick, Stanford University, "Publication of this innovative and authoritative work will serve a broad audience of both Andean scholars and students of foragers and hunter-gatherer societies in general.  Studies of ancient mountain foragers will never be the same again, either in the Andes or in other cordilleras."- Michael E. Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
