Raised in Queens, New York, Johnny Ramone founded one of the most influential rock bands of all time, but he never strayed from his blue-collar roots and attitude.     Commando: by Johnny Ramone---Greatest Quick Read Ever

    The first two-thirds of the book read like poetry. Of all the zillions of punks out there, it seems that only Johnny Ramone can explain things right. After the time point of "End of the Century" the poetry ends. Johnny offers a prosaic view of the Ramone's situation from then on until retirement. I picked up the book in the afternoon and didn't put it down again until the middle of the night. The last time I did that was when I read "Goodbye Mr Chips". I read the book a second time yesterday. A real pleasure!
