I love it.
I had the old style and thought it was so awesome, then after 12 years it was kind of getting dull . So trying to save a buck, I ordered a cheaper brand- it was junk, then another cheaper brand- it broke , then another it just was awful and seemed dull and wouldn't cut. I finally said no more, and went back to Pampered Chef. I love it ... works just as smooth as the original one. (but I do like the older design better). Disappointed in Pampered Chef
Had an old Pampered Chef can opener that was great, but for some reason went missing. Never had any problems with it. Bought the new one thinking the quality would be the same. Don’t work like the older model. Had can that it would not open, which the old one did. I contacted the lady I bought it from on EBay to see if there had been problems with it & got no response. I just like the feel of the older model & the way the old one worked. The only good thing I can say about the new model is I like the lift tab opener. I definitely would not buy this new Pampered Chef again. Had an old Pampered Chef can opener that was great, but for some reason went missing. Never had any problems with it. I will keep the old one for a backup, as it has certainly been very reliable and still works great, well worth the price. In my opinion, the Pampered Chef Smooth Edge can opener is one of the best can openers on the market. My EX has the first one
I have tried several different can openers. They all lack the ability to stay clean. The electric was ok as long as you never looked at the cutter. This can opener was and is the very best can opener on the market. I even take it camping. The can opener that has the cutting blade entering the food needs washed, then if luck it will rust and you will catch it before you eat the rust in your food, or you will have teenager (s) and have leftover food on the can opener. Have you ever tried to get nacho cheese sauce off a can opener the next day or two? With the Pampered Chef can opener YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO PERIOD! I'm not the teenager but the guy that get told all the time to grow up. (I was the person that left the nacho cheese sauce on the can opener and didn't bother to even rinse it ... Amazing Can Opener
I've had several "Wal Mart brand" can openers. No matter the name brand, they do not feel like the quality of Pampered Chef. This is an amazing opener. It leaves a smooth edge just as the name would imply. You can put the top back on the can and store it in the refrigerator. Well worth the investment.
